Archiving vs. Making a Client Inactive in WillowSpace
WillowSpace gives you two ways to manage clients you’re not currently working with: archiving and marking inactive. While both remove clients from your active workflows, they serve different purposes depending on how you want to organize your workspace.
Archiving a Client
Archiving is best for clients you’ve fully wrapped up with, have cancelled, or who you don’t plan to work with again in the near future.
What happens when you archive a client:
-
They are removed from your active Clients list
-
You can no longer assign them to new documents or projects
-
Their data (documents, payments, and project history) is still stored and viewable
-
You can unarchive them at any time if they return for future work
🚫 Marking a Client as Inactive
Marking a client as inactive helps you pause work or track clients who aren’t currently active—but without removing them from your day-to-day visibility.
What happens when a client is inactive:
-
They still appear in your Clients list, but are labeled “Inactive”
-
You can still assign documents or create new projects for them
-
This is ideal for retainer clients on pause, long-term leads, or slow cycles
