Milestones vs. tasks

What's the difference between milestones and tasks?

WillowSpace Projects have 2 main ways of tracking progress. The main project breakdown is done in milestones.

Milestones are the phases or major stages of a project. For example, if you are a brand designer, your milestones might be:

  • Onboarding

  • Brand Strategy

  • Brand Design

  • Finalize Files

  • Offboarding

Milestones are saved as templates in WillowSpace since they are likely to be repeated for multiple projects. As you check off milestones, the progress bar will reflect the changes both in your Project view and on the client's portal, making it easy for clients to check-in on project status.

Tasks are to-do lists for each project. This can include as little or as much detail as you see fit. This is not visible to the client in the portal, but you can assign tasks to your clients if you wish for them to get updates on outstanding tasks and to see their tasks in their client portal view.

Tasks can be added or checked off in the Projects view. They can also be assigned to other WillowSpace team members you've added to your account.
